Two WordPress tweaks

I have been searching for a way to make my personal blog more user friendly. In fact, this is what I keep doing, searching for better ways to tweak my WordPress blog.

The first tweak was related to search results: I have noticed that the sorting is by date, in reverse order – from older to newer. As older posts tend to be less relevant for the visitor, I found a way to change it.

Matrox G550 dual monitor

Sometimes Google is just not enough. Especially when you’ve clicked hundreds of results, hoping you will find the right answer to your problem. My problem was the Matrox G550 video card and its missing drivers for the modern, nowadays versions of Linux. In my case, the distro is Ubuntu.

I have tried to do everything I found on Google about how to set up X in order to display on dual monitor configuration. After hours of trying almost everything, I have combined all information I found and managed to find the workaround for Matrox G550 dual monitor configuration.

Full Android backup without root

If you are not ready to gain root access on your Android device or if you just don’t want it (for any reason), you can still do a full backup, without apps that do this only if they are granted root acces.

The “secret” is in Android SDK. Download the SDK from developer.android.com and install it.
